The following are the Awards available this year for Perioperative Nurses College members.
Pacific Surgical 'PATIENT FOCUS' Award
- 1 x $750
- Awarded each year to the Perioperative Nurse writing the best article relating to 'Patient Focus'.
- Article to be submitted to the National Secretary. Article may be published in The Dissector.
- The award will be announced and presented during the Annual General Meeting of PNC.

J & J - Ethicon & Ethicon Endosurgery Divisions Perioperative Nurses Education Awards
- 3 x $1000 grants
- Proposal to be on a subject relevant to perioperative nursing care, education, research or management and submitted on the Application form and sent to National Secretary to be judged by a sub- committee of National Committee.
- J & J – De Puy NZ Award 1 x $1000
- Proposal to be on a subject relevant to Orthopaedic Perioperative nursing, education, research, or management
- Winners to provide a report to Dissector on return from using the award.

Closing Date 29th August 2008
Dallas Jessiman Award sponsored by TycoHealthcare
- 1 x $500
- Awarded to a Perioperative Nurse attending PNC Conference for the first time.
- Names of applicants to be sent to National Secretary.
- Drawn by ballot.
- The winner will write a resume of the benefits of the educational programme which will be published in the Dissector.
- Applicants must attend the Annual General Meeting

Stryker Award for the best article in the Dissector
- 1 x $1000
- Awarded to the author of the best article contributed to and published in the Dissector. All articles published in issues this year will be included.
- Judging will be by the Editorial Committee and a representative from Stryker NZ.
Novice Award sponsored by Medspec
- Award to the best article/paper by a novice writer for the Dissector.
Cardinal Health Free Paper Award
- 1 x $500.
- warded to the “best” paper presented at the Free Paper Session, Thursday 1st September at the Annual Conference.
- Applicants need to submit an abstract for the paper and complete an entry form, to the National Secretary for consideration at the National Committee Meeting, May 2007
- Criteria and Application form available from National Secretary.
- Judging will be by one Cardinal Health representative, one nominated member of National Committee and Conference Organising Committee.
- Papers to be made available for publication in the Dissector.

Medspec Poster Competition
- Applicants need to submit an abstract for poster to the National Secretary on an entry form for consideration at the National Committee meeting in May 2007
- Application form and criteria available from National Secretary.
- Judging will be by 2 members of National Committee and Medspec.
Closing date for abstracts: 24th May 2008
Catherine Logan Memorial Fund sponsored by Device Technologies
- Award for a PNC member undertaking Post Graduate study with a Perioperative focus.
- 1 x $1000
- Application criteria available from the National Secretary.
- The successful applicant will be required to write an article for the Dissector at completion of their paper.
