The Wellington region encompasses Wellington, Hutt Valley and Masterton.

We currently have 87 members and we meet every 6 weeks (excluding the Christmas period) on a Tuesday evening. The meetings consist of a PNC business meeting and a talk from a visiting speaker.
We rotate the venue of these meeting through the hospitals in our region both public and private and each hospital is responsible for arranging the speaker at their meeting. Occasionally the speaker is one of our members presenting a paper or a conference report but usually they are other healthcare professionals talking on many varied topics.
As well as our meetings we also hold Study Days. These are usually held on a Saturday and the last one, which was held at the end of March, was attended by over 50 perioperative nurses. It was based around Death in the OR and we had a visit to a mortuary and talks from a Coroner, a Forensic Scientist and an NZNO colleague. It was a very informative and interesting day.
